SM> We gather here to give our time and attention to the world for just an hour or so. It is my deepest wish that you consider to give more time for this Bodhisacha meditation. When we give our attention to the total concern, then we are automatically selfless. Selflessness is a gateway to awakening. It would not be too much for you to live your entire life for the awakening of all beings and the welfare of this world.
Instruction on visualization begins.
SM> Let us settle and be still and silent. Sit straight but not rigid.
Watch your breath for just a moment and bring a sense of deep serenity to your heart. Bring all of your attention into your heart and there we will begin to visualize yourself as a diamond being. Clear and peaceful, strong and brilliant.
There you sit in the light of your heart with the grace of a swan. In the right hand a lotus, a full blossom beauty. Your delicate fingers hold the stem of the lotus and your left hand is resting on your left knee with palm open and fingers toward the earth as though the hand insinuates offering.
Fill your heart with the light of compassion. Fill it full and bright. Feel it in yourself and for the world.
Now:
You find yourself sitting on a white lotus throne up on a small hill. The hill is just high enough that it gives a view into the distance. There is a long line of people coming to you. They are coming to surrender and to take your offering.
Now:
You begin to breathe in and out slowly and deeply with intention as the people come closer. Feeling a deep peace, the breath gives a deep sense of peace. The people are close and one stands before you now.
Your in-breath begins to draw the negativity off of the one who approaches you. The negativity goes straight into the immaculate light of compassion in your heart and turns the out-breath into a blessing of clarity.
The people come to you one by one, some you know and some you do not. I will leave you now to care for those who come. You take from them their suffering on your in-breath and burn it in the compassionate light of your heart and breathe out the blessing of all the Buddhas for them. Soaking them in the jasmine breath of blessing.
20-30 minutes pass
SM> Look out onto the people and you will see the line is unending.
Begin to make the scene of the visualization a bit smaller now.
1 minute passes
And a little more.
1 minute passes
Gently reduce the vision into the light of your heart.
1 minute passes
Everything in the visualization will continue, the Bodhisattwa sits receiving the endless line of beings and continues to bless them with the Buddha's light of compassion, from right in the center of your heart.
1 minute passes
Reduce the scene to a tiny star of light in your heart.
That tiny star that shines in the continuance of the Gayatri Mantra. There the blessing will continue to turn like the wheel of life. When you notice, you will enhance it, but if you should forget, it will still go on for the full day.
1 minute passes
Be still now and close the visualization, take your time.
5 minutes pass
Slowly and gently bring your awareness back into the room and slowly, slowly open your eyes.
Preserve the energy of Bodhisattwa Atisha, that diamond being, clear and peaceful, strong and brilliant within you as you return to the room.
You can return to your heart at any time in the day and open the visualization again and sit in your heart and in the diamond being body of the great compassion for all.
Nameste a bow to all. Slowly slowly go into your day.
